The Ardennes is one of the oldest breeds of draft horse orginating from the Ardennes area in France/North Western Europe.
They are heavy-boned but agile at times, with thick legs that help when plowing fields, pulling stomps, and riding. Ardennes have a lot of Belgian blood. This increases their size and strength, which helps them pull heavy objects for long periods of time.
